I’m Thomas Otte, a dutch audio enthusiast born in 1995. I listen and make music for as long as I can remember. At first I picked up the guitar at the age of 7 and within a few years I started to play in bands. I always liked to write my own music or improvise rather than to play covers. Soon my interest grew to other instruments such as bass and drums. I’ve played bass in multiple projects. At the moment I have started a new band with me as the drummer (a kind of psychedelic garage rock, think: Oh Sees, Ty Segall, Pond, Mr. Elevator and the Brain hotel, Psychedelic monks). So I know what it is to create music.
I went to some studios to record our work. Unfortunately most of the time the results weren’t very good due to a poor mixing job. I decided that I should learn to record, mix and master so I could do this myself next time to have more control and to save money on the process. I entered Sound Education Nederland. Here I learned everything you should know about audio and I didn’t expect to like it this much! I’ve found the thing I want to do the rest of my life: mixing and mastering music!
After a year of lots of fun I graduated with an average grade of 9.1 out of 10 and mixed some projects for friends. Now it is time to put all this knowledge to practice and start my career!
